Introduction

 The Pakistan Biological Safety Association is a non-profit, non-governmental professional organization dedicated to the provision of comprehensive knowledge related to Biosafety issues in Pakistan.

The Pakistan Biological Safety Association was announced on March 29, 2008 under the dynamic of leadership of Dr Anwar Nasim, and support of National Core Group in Life Sciences (NCGLS).

Official Launching took place in Islamabad on 21 July 2008 at COMSTECH. This meeting was attended by participants from various eminent national organizations including AFIP, STRATEGIC Plans Devision Ministry of Foreign Affairs, DESTO, Ministry of Environment

Aims and Objectives

  • The fundamental objective of P.B.S.A is to establish a core group of people trained in the biological safety.

  • To utilize the expertise in much broader and comprehensive way to address National Biosafety issues:

  • To formulate frame work for promotion of best practices, standards, and codes of conduct in Life sciences at National level

  • To act as an advocating body for biological risks at regional and national level
